A Grand Holiday Weekend

I've always enjoyed the Pioneer Day celebrations we have here in Utah.  Growing up, they seemed bigger than the stuff that happened on the 4th of July.  I loved going downtown to watch the parade and seeing the big fireworks at Weber State.  This year's event was extra special for us.  Craig's Grandma and Grandpa Jensen were the Grand Marshals for this year's Pioneer Days Celebration in Ogden.  It was so fun to see them honored this way.  Most of Craig's family was in town to take part in the events.  I had no idea there were so many events that happen as a part of the celebration.  It was two full weeks of competitions, parties, and more.

We got to see our niece Macey for the first time.  She is already so big and has the cutest little mouth.  I couldn't believe what a good baby she was.  They had come all the way from Mississippi to be here.

A picture of the nieces and nephews and cousins at lunch a few days before the parade.

On Saturday, we went to the parade and last day of the rodeo.  I don't know why, but we never pulled our camera out during the parade so I don't have any pictures of that.  We got some fun ones at the rodeo, though.

We ended up getting to be in the box seats for the rodeo and got to experience everything up close and personal.  It definitely made things more exciting.  Especially when a rider would zoom by right next to the fence.  The kids had a hard time sitting still and had to get as close as possible to the action.

Craig broke out his cowboy gear for the rodeo.  He looks pretty good in his fancy duds.  Its hard for a girl to resist a cute cowboy.  Especially one who is good with kids, too.
