I have been a terrible blogger the past few months. I have been focusing on getting things ready for the baby and definitely put updates on hold. I wanted to post something of an update before the baby actually comes.

I have enjoyed being pregnant. Everyone keeps asking me if I am SO ready to deliver this baby and tired of pregnancy. I'm not. I have so many things I have wanted to do before the baby arrives. I have only finished about half.
I also enjoy being pregnant. I haven't been miserable at all. I have had puffy legs, ankles, and feet (I can't fit in most of my shoes). I have also had a bruise on my back for about six weeks that I am convinced must be from the strain of the extra weight in front. These seem like pretty small complaints, all things considered.

I guess, for me, the good things have really outweighed the bad. In fact, I have a whole list of great things about being pregnant that I'd like to share. Maybe it will give encouragement to all of those mothers-to-be who are feeling miserable and haven't yet escaped the evils on morning (afternoon and evening) sickness.

12. No need to suck in that tummy. Flaunt that belly for once.
11. Being pregnant is sexy. (Thank you Heidi Klum!)
10. You are heroic if you exercise at all, especially after six months.
0. No heavy lifting. People get mad if you even try. This could really come in handy if you have to move but may be outweighed by the stress of it all.
8. Bigger boobs. Speaking as someone who has spent their life being flat chested, I have enjoyed the fact that I finally fill out the top of my shirts.
7. Great excuse to go shopping. That baby won't dress himself!
6. New room to decorate. Put your talent to the test. And remember, someone else will do the heavy lifting, you just have to tell them which corner you want that crib in, then you can have them move it when it doesn't look right.

5. It is totally acceptable to crave ice cream at one o'clock in the morning. On top of that, your husband might even go and get some from the store for you at one o'clock in the morning.
4. You glow. The famous glow of a pregnant mommy is a nice bonus, especially when you aren't feeling as beautiful as you used to.
3. Hearing your baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound. It almost made me weep. It was such a beautiful sound.
2. Feeling your baby kick. It feels like you get know him before anyone else. His kicks are like your own special form of communication. This is a great pregnancy bonus just as long as he doesn't get you in the bladder and make you pee your pants!
1. You get to be the mommy of a wonderful new perfect little gift from Heavenly Father! There couldn't be anything better than that.
